Trails thru Time - Doranna Glettig

Thomas Kennerly Settle, (pictured 1861 in Civil War uniform)  the son of Meredith and Matilda (Weekly) Settle, was born in VA.  He served in the 15th U.S. Army during the Civil War.  He married Mary Jane Ferguson in 1871 in OH.  They later settled in Latham, Butler Co., KS where "TK" was the postmaster for several years.  He died in 1911; Mary Jane died 1931 in Winfield, KS.

 

Children:  Lillian May, Mary Viola, Howard Davis, Arthur Wilson, William Elmer, Laura Omega and Clyde Ferguson.

Clyde Ferguson Settle married Joanna Lee in 1913 in Paris, Idaho.  Clyde played local baseball and was a newspaperman.  He owned and operated  The Star Valley Independent in Afton, Wyoming, for several years, before moving to Sacramento, CA.  Clyde and Joanna were divorced in 1931, he married Louise Lambert in 1943.

Taken in Sacramento, Ca., about  1928.  It is believed Marjorie was on her way to play in a piano recital.
